Circuit & Regional Regattas
LCYC is pleased to host the following racing events in 2017.
TSA Youth Regatta
12th Annual TSA Spring Fling Youth Regatta - March 11th and 12th, 2016
Participation in this event continues to grow. Last year we had a very impressive turnout and expect the same this year. As always, we will have the opportunity to share our hospitality, great racing venue, camping facilities, and wonderful meals, all of which have made this event a staple for many on the TSA circuit. The regatta will also give our youth sailors the opportunity share in the competition and camaraderie of their peers. This year we expect to have the standard boats/classes as follows, plus the O'pen Bic fleet: • Optimist pram in four separate fleets, Novice (age 7-15) Fleets by age for 7-10, 11-12 and 13-15 • Laser in two fleets 4.7 for lighter or younger sailors Radial for older or heavier sailors • 420 double-handed boat • O'pen Bic Because of last year’s unexpected and unprecedented level of attendance, this year we will organize as we do for Wurstfest Regatta. Therefore, I am requesting additional volunteers to make sure everything runs smoothly and safely. I believe we will need at least 45 volunteers on the water to staff the three race courses, registration, safety boats, protest committees, spectator boats, ramp traffic, etc. I also want to take this opportunity to once again ask for volunteers. It takes volunteers on and off the water to make our Spring Fling Regatta a success. As of today, we are short for both. Please contact me at David Lilley or 210-410-4943 if you would like to help on the water. If you would like to help in the kitchen, please contact Michelle Lilley or 210-410-4954.
Check out the Youth Programs link on the TSA web site.
Warning: the enthusiasm of these youngsters is contagious. You are guaranteed to have a good time!
Longneck Multihull Open Regatta
May 20th and 21st, 2017
Proceeds with benefit the Canyon Lake Sailing Foundation.
Bring out your catamarans and trimarans for the fastest sailboat racing on Canyon Lake. Even if you have not had your multihull out in a while there will not be a better time to get on the water with like-minded sailors who feel the need for speed. A good time is guaranteed!
