The Animatedknots.com web site is divided into sections of knots needed in various environments; Climbing, fishing, scouting, search/rescue, household, decorative, and of course boating. There are photos, descriptions and applications of all knots as well as an animated sequence of steps for the correct tying of each knot. Additionally, there is a section on rope care and safety for all of the above. The link above will take you to the site's home page; scroll down and click on boating to be taken to sailor's knots.
